About this Event
The Capital City Big Band was established in 2017 and has become one of Edmonton’s leading community Big Bands. Our members come from all walks of life and a wide variety of professional and musical backgrounds. At the centre of it all: a passion for Big Band music!
Under the direction of guest conductor, Eric Wieden, our December concert at Edmonton’s historic Yardbird Suite will feature high power, high energy arrangements of some popular and traditional jazz tunes, ranging from blues, contemporary, ballad, and swing from a wide range of Big Band arrangers and feature compositions from Maynard Ferguson, Herbie Hancock, Thad Jones, Count Basie, and Pat Metheny, among others.
