Recorder virtuoso Cléa Galhano and soprano Madeline Ross join Musica Universalis in a concert of further selections from the 13th-century Cantigas de Santa Maria, a collection of 420 poems with musical notation written during the reign of Alfonso X "The Wise" of Castile (1221–1284).
Our concert will explore these melodies and augment the program with similar songs used throughout the centuries for pilgrimages and storytelling.
