About this Event

Join us for the next Canopy Green Roof Forum at the new narrm ngarrgu Library!

Discover the community garden terrace at City of Melbourne's narrm ngarrgu Library, and learn about the garden terrace inception, design and delivery from Bush Landscape Architects and the City of Melbourne's client and project managment team. The naarm ngarrgu Library and Family Services Centre opened in November 2023 and is the city's new flagship library.

The spectacular rooftop terrace showcases a native planting palette to reflect precolonial planting of the traditional landscape as Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. The design incorporates greenery with explorative play elements, featuring a giant eel trap and coolamon cast from an eucalyptus burl for smoking ceremonies by Wurundjeri Elders.

We're excited to host guest speakers for a discussion about the unique needs of the Library Services client, the thoughtful design response, and how the project was brought to life by the delivery team.

Guest Speakers:

  • Kathryn Donkin is the Venue and Precinct Partnerships Manager in Creative City at the City of Melbourne. Kathryn represents the client team for narrm ngarrgu.
  • Steph Kerr is an associate landscape architect at Bush Projects Landscape Architecture based in Melbourne, representing the landscape design team behind narrm ngarrgu's garden terrace.
  • Manoj Sharma is an engineer and was the lead Project Manager from City Projects at the City of Melbourne that delivered narrm ngarrgu.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and experts in the field as we explore ways to realise and promote green infrastructure projects across Melbourne and Victoria.

Light refreshments will be served and guests will have the opportunity for networking after the guest speaker discussion.
