Kristel has been growing in the Gallatin Valley for over 15 years and currently runs Mixed Veggies, a full service organic gardening company that goes from seed to table- providing outside acclimated vegetable plant starts to home owners directly and through wholesale within the Gallatin Valley.
Alongside her knowledge of gardening, she has also spent years perfecting various home preservation methods such as freezing, dehydration, water bath canning, and pressure canning.
In this class Kristel will compare and contrast different preservation methods and cover canning essentials like:
-Safety precautions and sanitation (sorry Botox, no botulism allowed!)
-Basic analysis of each step of the canning process and tools you will need
-Developing your plan from planting to preservation
Kristel will be available after the seminar for questions. This event is free and open to the public. No registration necessary. The only thing you need to bring is something to take notes, and a canning friend. Seating first-come, first-serve.
