Have you had a snake encounter while out with your dog? You know the feelingāthe fear, the hypervigilance that follows, the constant scanning of every step during your bush walks. Itās exhausting, and itās time for a change.
Our 12-week, fully guided, in-person Snake Avoidance Training Program is designed to bring that peace of mind back to your outdoor adventures. Weāll help you and your dog become prepared, confident, and snake-safeāso you can enjoy your walks the way you used to.
āØ Unique Benefits of Our Program:
12 Weeks of Force-Free Training: Each week, you and your dog will learn life-saving skills, progressing through this comprehensive training in a small group setting.
Snake Detection Kits Included: Your training includes a snake scent kit featuring the scent of two common snakes in the area. Because seeing a snake might already be too lateābut your dogās nose can detect danger before it's visible.
Expert Guidance: Week 1 kicks off with an online orientation with Marra Apgar, owner and trainer at Perth-based Dog Training Help. Weāll brush up on the foundational skills you'll need for the weeks ahead.
Hands-On Group Sessions: From Week 2 to Week 12, you'll join in-person sessions to build and refine these skills.
Guided Weekly Group Calls: In addition to hands-on training, every week youāll have access to a group call with your trainer to troubleshoot, discuss snake behavior, and learn key skills for keeping you and your dog safe.
The unique benefit of this course? We donāt just teach dogs to see a snake and avoid itāwe teach them to smell a snake. Your dogās nose is the strongest tool they have. In this training, theyāll learn to recognize the scent of common snakes and respond by coming to you and giving a clear, specific indicator that a snake is nearby. This means you get the time you need to take actionākeeping your dog, yourself, and the snakes safe. š¾šæ
