Enjoy the sweet life of the 1890s as you learn how farm families made, shared, and enjoyed hard candy. Smell the vibrant flavors as the candy cooks on the wood-burning stove, and sample some of the candy as well.We will be making candy in the Production Kitchen of the 1890s farmhouse, drop on in to watch and learn!
There will also be a table up in the Visitors Center for you to taste more candy flavors, plus learn all about how the various candies were used as medicine in the past! Many candy flavors in the 1890s were derived from plant oils which were taken medicinally.
Don't miss it!
All ages; under 18 with an adult. Free. No registration. Drop in any time the program is running to watch and learn!
Saturday 11/29 & Sunday 11/30 from 11am-3pm.
Suggested admission donation of $5 per person to enter the farm.
