Uptown Long Beach 90805…. In its ongoing presentation of candidates and their vision for our Community and the Federal, State, County and City of Long Beach. The North Long Beach Community Action Group, North Long Beach Neighborhood Associations and The Historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery is presenting its Primary and General Election Candidate’s Brunch and Community Awareness to “Meet, Greet and Eat”. The media neighborhood associations, and the community at large are invited and encouraged to come. COVID RESTRICTIONS APPLY
THE VENUE: is a Victorian Farmhouse built (1903) originally as a dairy, and is a reminder of the agricultural history of North Long Beach. The residence is an intact example of a Victorian farm house and dairy. Originally part of the California Cooperative and then Virginia City. It is highly distinctive in its neighborhood and was part of Virginia City an unincorporated portion of Los Angeles prior to the annexation of Virginia City to Long Beach in 1924. It is one of the last residences of its kind from Virginia City and one of the oldest homes remaining intact in North Long Beach. The residence stands out from its neighbors in scale and architectural type. It is the only Victorian Farmhouse in tact in this area. This is a rural farmhouse of the early 1900s among houses of later periods that make it an important historical artifact, recalling the California Cooperative Colony Tract and its agricultural beginnings.
Candidate Brunch: Saturday, 26 March 2022, 11:00 Am to 2:30 Pm
ELECTION DATE: 7 JUNE 2022 RSVP: 562-572-1602 (Donations Accepted)
This event is a "Unique" Long Beach tradition called “the Candidate Brunch” for Media, Candidates and community members prior to the election this June for Congress, Assembly, County and City-wide offices (Mayor and Council Districts). So each election cycle (every couple of years or so) we have an educational opportunity with candidates, the public, and the media to meet informally. We accept donations to offset expenses for the meal and refreshments.
"THE CANDIDATE BRUNCH" allows you to hear directly from candidates from all levels of Government. This year there is an exciting lineup you might call a " CAST OF CHARACTERS" that elections produce. The brunch is informal, educational, with refreshments and food being served. Candidates may answer questions or none at all. We do take donations to help offset the expense. So our first brunch of two bunches (Mayor, City Council and School Board will follow at a later date) The Brunch will be from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm it will be for the following listed candidates:
Congressional Candidates: Dist 44 Nannette Baragon
District 47: Robert Garcia, Christina Garcia.
Assembly Candidates: AD 69
Josh Lowenthal, Al Austin
County Sheriff Candidates: Enrique Del Real, Eliezer Vera, Eric Strong,
Britta Steinbrenner, Matthew Rodriguez, Cecil Rhambo,
Robert Luna, April Saucedo Hood, Alex Villanueva,
Long Beach Citywide Offices
City Auditor: Laura Doud, Frances Gonzales
City Attorney: Dawn McIntosh
City Prosecutor: Doug Haubert, George Moyer, Nicholas Liddi
Candidates are welcome to bring their campaign materials and a guest. All local media will be invited to ask questions and participate with the voters. Again, this is NOT A DEBATE but an opportunity to meet potential representatives and become more acquainted and informed by those who are running for elected office. Please note that this will be the first of two brunches due to the number of candidates for office in this election cycle.
This event is open to the public
