Bushnell tells her life story with sharp humor and pace. From a childhood where her father wryly remarked that "no man would ever love her" to the day she took the bus to Manhattan in a Loehmann's outfit to pursue her writing dream. Her first publication was about Studio 54 etiquette ("If someone dies, just ignore it"), after which she quickly made a name for herself as a journalist.
