About this Event
Overview
Advances in cancer treatments mean that more people are living longer, even with incurable disease. This has uncovered a need to review our approach to cancer pain management, ensuring that care is more personalised, and consistent with stage of disease. This course brings together expertise in the cancer pain field to provide an up to date view on current best practice.
Intended Audience
GPs, Community palliative care services , Community pharmacists.
What to expect
· Latest evidence on management of cancer pain at different stages of the disease
· The pitfalls of high doses of opioid
· NSAIDS and COX-II inhibitors
· Newer approaches including personalised cancer pain assessment
