About this Event

Cancer Care Takes a Community

Come out and bring interested folks you know to the 2nd Annual Equity in Breast Care Symposium of the Ellie Fund & the Boston Breast Cancer Equity Coalition. "Cancer Care Takes a Community" will take place at the Roxbury Community College in Boston, the afternoon/evening of Thursday, June 20th. Snacks will be served.

Our goal for this event is to empower every attendee to be a confident champion of her/his own breast care, and healthcare. And for every breast cancer patient to leave knowing how to connect in the community for support.

The afternoon will feature a packed agenda of interactive mini-sessions on topics assoicated with the breast cancer journey, including:

 • Screening: preventative and diagnostic
 • The details of medical cancer care including how to benefit from clinical trials
 • Understanding and supporting your mental health during treatment
 • Nutrition and exercise during treatment

Coach LA – life coach and motivational speaker – will lead us through a meaningful exercise to explore our personal practices of self-respect and self-advocacy.

Display tables will feature hands-on learning experiences related to cancer screening, self advocay, "Faces of Faith", and how to self educate about clinical trials.

Connect with other patients, caregivers, providers of cancer care, and representatitves from the cancer drug industry who will be present to listen and answer your questions.

Looking forward to see you there!
