Free cancer awareness training for anyone interested in learning more about cancer screening, early diagnosis and supporting their community
About this Event

Join us for our free Community Connector training as part of LIP's Early Action on Cancer Pilot.

The training is open to anyone who wants to learn more about cancer awareness, screening and the importance of early diagnosis. You don't have to become a Community Connector afterwards – you're welcome to attend simply to build your knowledge and confidence.

During the session, we'll look at common myths and misconceptions around cancer, the screening programmes available, signs and symptoms to be aware of, and local services and support.

We'll also introduce the Community Connector role and how Connectors will help share trusted information, start conversations within their communities and help us understand some of the barriers people face when accessing screening and healthcare.

We'll also look at how health services can better understand and respond to the communities they serve – it's not just about educating communities, but helping services learn from communities too.

No previous experience or medical knowledge is needed.

Come along, learn something new and find out how you could help more people take those important early steps when it comes to their health.
