Canberra Airport Runway Tour

During the school holidays, Canberra Airport is offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes bus tour of the airport. The Runway Tour will be led by Canberra Airport staff as they share information about aircraft operations, interesting aviation facts, and more!

Tours will run for approximately 30 mins (subject to air traffic), departing from Canberra Airport. More information will be provided once your spot is confirmed.

Junior Tours

Time: 10am and 11am

Price: Children under 15 - $5, Adults - $20

Accessibility: We are committed to making the Canberra Airport customer experiences and events accessible for people of all mobility levels, including for those who use wheelchairs. Parking: Tour attendees will receive an email directing them where to park. Tour attendees will receive an exit ticket for free parking.

Security: You will be required to go through security before the tour registration. Please allow extra time when you arrive to go through security. For security tips see here.

During the Runway Tour, the terminal and tarmacs will be still be an active operating Airport with specific security requirements. This includes passenger screening to enter the sterile (departures) area of the terminal. All tour attendees will be subject to primary and secondary screening of persons and personal effects. Any children will need to be supervised by a legal guardian for this process which could also involve a targeted frisk search. Individuals who have specific medical devices which cannot be screened should make themselves known to the screening team. By buying a ticket for the Runway Tour, you provide consent for these security requirements to be conducted. Failure to consent to these measures will result in you being refused entry to the sterile area at Canberra Airport.
