Canarsie Pier Clean Up

Please join us along with CM Mercedes Narcisse's office for a volunteer cleanup at Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn!

Canarsie Pier connects to Canarsie Park and overlooks Paerdegat Basin. Before the 1920s, Paerdegat Basin was Paerdegat Creek, a freshwater tidal creek connecting to Jamaica Bay. Canarsie Park is known for its recreation facilities, but it is also home to a surprising number of diverse wildlife spanning multiple acquatic ecosystems due to Canarsie's close proximity to the seashore and its lesser known wetland hiking trails.

The cleanup will run from 10am to 12:00pm. Gloves, garbage bags and pickers will be provided.

Please wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. 💧
