Canada Day at The Forks returns to Winnipeg's historic meeting place for a vibrant, family-focused celebration gifted the name ᐊᐧᐦᑯᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ Wáhkóhtowin by Two-Spirit Kokum Charlotte Nolin, reflecting the spirit of relationship, kinship, and our responsibilities to one another. Running 9 AM–6 PM across multiple locations, festivities include: Opening Ceremony at Oodena Celebration Circle; Sacred Fire; NORTH STAR DANCE FESTIVAL featuring cultural performances, free dance workshops, and street dance battles; Basketball tournament and demonstrations; Handmade Market on CN Stage and Field; FortWhyte Alive critters exhibit; cultural dancers (Fancy Shawl, Jingle Dress, Hoop Dancer, Fancy Bustle); Folklorama cultural performances and fashion show; food trucks; and much more. Located at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers. Made possible in part by the Government of Canada.
