Camp Vini Goes West: Oregon Trails & Tall Tales

Howdy, campers!

You have died of dysentery.*

Your wagon axle is broken.
You’ve forded the river incorrectly.
Someone in your party lost 14 pounds of flour.
And somehow, despite all odds, you still made it to Oregon.

Honestly? That’s the pioneer spirit we’re looking for.

For our next adventure, Camp Vini is heading west — past the rivers, forests, mountain passes, and questionable trail decisions — toward one of the most exciting wine regions in the country.

This time, we’re loading up the wagon and making our way through the winding hills and valleys of the Willamette Valley and beyond, exploring the wines that helped redefine American winemaking. Along the trail, we’ll encounter sparkling wines, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gamay, Pinot Noir, and a few surprises that remind us Oregon’s wine story goes far beyond a single grape.

Expect wines with freshness, energy, texture, and the kind of personality that only comes from a place shaped by rain, elevation, forests, and volcanic earth. These are bottles that feel adventurous, expressive, and very much alive.

And as always, this isn’t a formal lecture hall situation. Think less “sommelier exam” and more “your funniest friend explaining wine while sitting on a cooler beside the campfire.” We’ll drink thoughtfully, learn a few things, and probably make at least one historically inaccurate Oregon Trail joke along the way.
