Camp Guthrie: History

Get ready for a summer of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on fun at Camp Guthrie! Join us every Wednesday in July at 10 a.m. for this FREE series designed to engage kids through interactive learning. Each week, we will explore a new topic led by local community partners. The session kicks off with an educational experience, followed by a hands-on activity that encourages kids to learn by doing.
Camp Guthrie wraps up for the summer with Camp-A-Palooza on August 1, a fun-filled celebration you won't want to miss!
This week's theme is history, and the activity is "Tulsa Time Capsule: A Box Full of Today"
Each kid gets a small box or jar to decorate and fill with things that represent Tulsa today, such as a drawing of their favorite local spot, a note about something happening in the city, or a short letter to their future self. We'll talk about what someone might learn about Tulsa if they opened it 50 years from now. It's part art project, and part time travel!
*Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
