CAMP CRUSH
Camp Crush is an Indie Pop duo out of Portland, OR. Formed in 2017 by singer/keyboardist Jen Deale and drummer Chris Spicer, the husband-and-wife band launched onto the northwest music scene with their vocal-forward synth-rich pop tunes and dynamic live performance. The next year found them opening for I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, The Dears, The Jacks and The Slants, as well as touring the Northwest and Alaska.
After the release of several singles and their first EP, they began collaborating with grammy-nominated engineer & producer Rian Lewis (Doja Cat, Gorillaz, Chromeo, Louis the Child, D.R.A.M.), working together to release two more EPs in 2019, including songs ‘Fireflies’ and ‘I Would Run’, both featured on PDX Pop Now compilations. The group released their 4th EP Always?, in July of 2022 along with an exclusive pictorial zine that highlights their dramatic fashion in a series of lush photographs and artwork.
Deale and Spicer met in Portland, OR in 2010 and discovered their shared love for the songwriting of bands like The Cure, New Order, Berlin and the National. Their new EP channels these influences and works to integrate their perspective to create something unique. Happy Mag describes them best: “The duo glide through a cinematic brand of indie-pop that is completely endearing and damn-near mesmerizing.
BIKINI DRONE
Hailing from Italy and the US, BIKINI DRONE mixes Italo disco with dreamy Tropicana and danceable world spy pop with a healthy dose of improvisational jams, cinematic lyrics and an ear for finding unexpected bridges to journey across.
WOLFCHILD
WOLFCHILD is a Seattle based Cinematic Folk Rock band with influences ranging from the immersive earthy sounds of Gregory Alan Isakov, Lord Huron, and The Paper Kites to the contemporary experimentation you might expect from Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, or Andrew Bird.
At the core of the project is Gabriel Wolfchild and his brother Elion TruthHeart.
The duo has been playing music together since their earliest years. While In many ways they have evolved to be about as different as they can be from one another. It is in that contrast that they find their creative spark. Together they weave cathartic storytelling with dynamic soundscapes, from dreamy shoegaze-esk weightless atmosphere, to meditative orchestral overtones, and a rhythmic cinematic sound that could be the love child of Jonsi (Sigur Ros) and Nick Drake.
