Camille Thurman and the Darrell Green Quartet

The Producer’s Guild is proud to welcome back the award-winning multi-instrumentalist composer and vocalist Camille Thurman. This young rising star of jazz is a much sought-after performer. Thruman plays a mean tenor saxophone and is highly inventive as a vocalist. Her rich sax sound has been compared to Joe Henderson and Dexter Gordon and her vocals have been classified alongside those of Ella Fitzgerald and Betty Carter.

In a few short years the New York City native has amassed several distinctive honors for her musicianship including the runner up in the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition and two-time winner of the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Award. Thurman has shared the stage with such jazz and R&B luminaries as George Coleman Roy Haynes Dianne Reeves Patti LaBelle Gladys Knight Lalah Hathaway Jill Scott and Erykah Badu among others. Thurman toured internationally for two seasons with the world-renowned Jazz At Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis as a saxophonist becoming the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full time (2018-2020).

Thurman will be gracing our stage with the Darrell Green Quartet band leader Darrell Green on drums Wallace Rodney on trumpet Lonnie Planico on bass Jordon Williams on piano and Camille Thurman on sax and vocals.
