About our instructor: Tim Stroud
Tim Stroud, a former combat medic in the U.S. Army, has channeled his military discipline and leadership into spearheading initiatives that bridge the gap between Veterans and vital community resources. After his distinguished service, which included deployments in Germany, Kosovo, Kuwait, and Iraq, Tim co-founded Stay Tuned for Veterans with his daughter. This non-profit leverages the arts to connect veterans with mental health services, embodying his commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of his fellow servicemen and women.
Tim continues to lead with a focus on strategic growth and community impact. His work with Easter Seals Greater Houston and other organizations has expanded essential services for Veterans, including innovative service dog programs and mental health initiatives. His ability to drive meaningful change is grounded in his military experience, where he developed a profound understanding of the challenges faced by Veterans transitioning back to civilian life. Additionally, through Tim's leadership at Stay Tuned for Veterans, participants have secured roles in several notable productions, including Netflix's "MO," The CW's "Walker," DirecTV's "Friday Night Lights," Amazon's "One Mississippi," and Hulu's "Dear Santa." These opportunities highlight his commitment to integrating Veterans into diverse arenas, including the entertainment industry.
