About this Event
Please read the information below carefully before you register:
Only one child per family is allowed to register except they are twins. We will organise another trip to Cambridge University next year. Other members of the family can join us then. We want to give opportunities to other families.
The day trip to the University of Cambridge is organised by Youth Aspire Connect (YAC). YAC is a charity organisation in Hull and East Yorkshire that is committed to inspiring, empowering, and mentoring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
This exciting trip to one of the most prestigious universities in the world is part of our strategy to inspire young people to think Bigger, be Better, and achieve More especially for those who believe that the University of Cambridge or Oxford is not for them. Our young people should see these Universities as a place where they can belong and thrive too.
This trip is strictly for young people who will be aged 14 years and above by July 2024 regardless of ethnicity. The is a full-day trip from 7am to 7:30 pm. We have an effective and robust safeguarding policy & procedures in place and Public Liability Insurance (till January 2025). All the young people embarking on the trip will be accompanied by adults. These adults work in the educational or health sector with an up to date DBS check certificate. We are using a registered and highly reputable coach company.
The visit will cover:
• Welcome Talk by the Cambridge University staff
• Q & A session with current Cambridge students
•Q & A session with the Admissions Tutors
• Tour of the Colleges, Library, and University departments.
• Admission process
• Application process & what documents are needed
Personal statement workshop
• Lunch & networking and many others.
The trip will cost only £20 per child including lunch . The organisation (Youth Aspire Connect) will cover the balance. However, additional charge may apply at checkout for Eventbrite processing fee.
