The second Cambridge working group meeting for Nature Recovery - From the Ground Up.
About this Event

This meeting will take place on 4th March 17:00-18:30 at Cambridge Central Library (Everyspace). The meeting is intended for members of local community groups, individuals who have an interest in nature recovery, and local councillors. Our primary focus will be on the pilot parishes, but other interested parties from outside these areas are also welcome to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Showcase the nature recovery initiatives with a talk from Cllr Ian Walters from Duxford Parish Council on the parish’s use of Parish Online to map and plan nature recovery initiatives
  • Launch countywide 1-year pilot of Parish Online as a mapping tool to underpin Community Nature Recovery Plans and local projects in the city that are joined up with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS)
  • Review emerging themes from the offers and needs markets (from the previous working group meetings), and identify priority next steps for individual parishes and cross-parish collaboration

Please share this invite with others who might be interested in attending, and fill in the Register Interest Form for the project, if you haven’t done so already.

To contact the project team please email [email protected].

Please note: The number of tickets for this event is capped at 40, due to the size of the venue.

About the project:

Nature Recovery - From the Ground Up is a 4-year Cambridgeshire County Council project, delivered in partnership with Natural Cambridgeshire. The aim of the project is to support communities in Cambridgeshire to specify, fund and deliver community nature projects that are locally meaningful and strategically aligned with the ecological vision of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Local Nature Recovery Strategy. The first phase of the project will support 20 parishes across the districts of Cambridgeshire as well as the city of Cambridge to co-create Community Nature Plans including habitat maps, biodiversity opportunity maps and an evidence-based 5-year pipeline of feasible community nature projects.
