CALVIN PINEDA & THE ANTACIDS sing queer Mormon ballads. With THE LAST ARIZO
About this Event
Boise, Idaho antifolk darlings Calvin Pineda & The Antacids descend on the greater DC/NOVA area, performing songs from their new album "Why I Left The Clergy."
Inspired by the DIY ethos of The Mountain Goats and the disgusting prolificness of Bob Dylan, The Antacids offer pop-tinged folk & rock tunes, paying equal homage to LDS Children's Hymns and LCD Soundsystem. Fronted by the eponymous nonbinary ex-priest, they are tickled pink to be sharing a bill with local folk-punk icon The Last Arizona, genre-fluid punqrrrrs We Are The Dirt, and the fine rock gentlemen called Sketch.
This is their first tour on what is a road to inevitable pop stardom; you are cordially invited. Zines will be folded. Accordion will be played.
Calvin Pineda & The Antacids are a DIY antifolk band from Boise, Idaho and upstate NY. They draw sonic inspiration from The Mountain Goats, emotional support from The Modern Lovers, and maintain a Dylanesque prolificness with over 10 albums since their formation in 2022. They have shared stages with Jeffrey Lewis, Foot Ox, and MAKUTA.
