Calm, hands-on clay workshop for women to relax, connect and create. No experience needed. Child-friendly, supportive, free session.
About this Event

A gentle, hands‑on clay workshop for women, offering space to slow down, connect and find calm through making. No experience needed. A supportive, child‑friendly session as part of the Make Share Heal programme.

This welcoming workshop invites women to explore calm, grounding and self‑expression through working with clay. Using simple techniques, touch and repetition, participants are guided to create small clay forms that support relaxation, focus and emotional wellbeing.

Inspired by folk traditions, earth‑based materials and mindful making, Calm in Clay blends creativity, reflection and connection — helping you feel present, supported and restored.

No experience required — just curiosity. Materials and refreshments provided.

What to expect:

Grounding with Clay
Begin with a gentle introduction to clay as a calming, tactile material. Simple hand‑building techniques help ease tension, support focus and encourage a sense of presence.

Calm Object Making
Create a small clay piece such as a worry stone, bowl, talisman or abstract form. Shape something that feels soothing or meaningful — guided by touch rather than perfection.

Texture & Touch Exploration
Experiment with surface patterns, pressing, smoothing and natural textures to deepen relaxation and sensory awareness.

Light Sharing & Connection
A relaxed, optional space to share what you made and how it felt — supportive, pressure‑free and confidential.

Gentle Wellbeing Tools
Simple ideas for using hands‑on creativity, rhythm and natural materials to reduce stress and bring moments of calm into daily life.

The workshop is designed to help you feel grounded, creative, valued and connected, while supporting emotional wellbeing through slow, mindful making.

Part of the Make Share Heal programme

This session is part of Make Share Heal — a 12‑month wellbeing programme delivered through the ENNS project, supporting women aged 18–49. The programme focuses on improving emotional wellbeing, building resilience and reducing isolation through creative, shared experiences.

The project warmly welcomes migrant women, including those from Ukraine, Poland and Central & Eastern Europe, alongside local women seeking connection, space and support.

Alongside the workshop, participants can access optional one‑to‑one support and signposting to local services including housing, employment support, mental health services, childcare and community resources. Multilingual support is available.

Facilitator

The workshop is facilitated by Monika Lenard, an experienced women’s group leader with over 20 years of practice in creating safe, trauma‑informed spaces for personal growth and community connection. Monika’s work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness and somatic wellbeing.

She weaves together gentle creative practices, folk influences, grounding techniques and reflective sharing, offering an inclusive and nurturing experience shaped by cultural heritage and care.

Free to attend.
Refreshments and all materials provided.
