Leave perfection at the door and come explore different art forms through a lens of curiosity, joy, and community! Art classes held at Beyond Yoga will meet once monthly to explore different mediums and topics, led by Mickey Thiry.May 30th (Saturday from 2pm-4pm) Calligraphy & Card Making: Gift yourself this two-hour workshop to learn a new craft and find a new hobby! While handwriting is our quick way of jotting down ideas and communicating through written language, calligraphy dives deeper into the visual art of slow, structured, intentional lettering. This instructional workshop will explore fundamental techniques of faux and modern calligraphy, starting with the basics, and providing lots of space for practice and play. Towards the end of the session, students will be able to create their own card and include their new-found calligraphy techniques!

About your guide: Mickey Thiry has been exploring different art forms for many years - diving deeply into a love for watercolor, ceramics, and hand-knotted malas. Alongside her work as an artist, she is also a yoga instructor and intentionally weaves mindfulness, breath, and presence into each class. With experience across a variety of art forms, she enjoys sharing creative practices with the goal of bringing joy, confidence, and curiosity into participants’ lives—sometimes even inspiring a new hobby. Mickey has facilitated numerous community-based art workshops, including watercolor painting, linocut printing, embroidery, ceramics, and mixed-media exploration.
