The Painters' Group of San Luis Obispo presents Brushstrokes 2024

Brushstrokes is a non-themed juried exhibition. It is held annually and is open to all painters residing in California. It showcases a diverse array of unique artistic expression across various painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage.
Juror: The juror for this year’s exhibit is Frank Eber, an award-winning artist and signature member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS), American Watercolor Society (AWS), the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and a juried Artist member of the prestigious California Art Club. He conducts workshops and demonstrations locally and at the national and international level, working in both oil and water media. He writes, “Subject matter is really secondary to me. I am looking for interacting patterns and shapes, and above all, for some meaning that lies beyond technical ability, beyond brushwork. Website: www.frankeber.com
Exhibition Requirements:
• All artwork must be original and available for sale. Giclées will not be considered.
• Photo reference material must have been taken by the submitting artist and not derived from any published images.
• Paintings must be framed, unless on panel or gallery wrapped canvas, securely wired, and ready to hang. No saw-tooth hangers are allowed.
• Size of the work, including frame, shall not exceed 42 inches in any direction, and all artwork must be available for sale.
• An Artists Statement is requested to accompany your submission.
Digital Submissions: All entries must be digitally submitted through EntryThingy - https://www.entrythingy.com/d=centralcoastartistscollective.org#show=11898. Images must be in JPG format, at least 300 dpi, not to exceed 8 MB, cropped to show only the painting; no matting, background or frame shall be allowed on image.
• Each JPEG image must be labeled with the painting title and dimensions (height first) with no artist’s name included (e.g. Blue Sky.16×20.jpg.).
• Entries must be received by midnight, June 16, 2024.
Entry Fees: A maximum of three entries may be submitted. Accepted artworks are limited to one per artist.
• TPG Members’ entry fees are $25 for one piece and $10 for each additional piece.
• Non-Members will pay $35 for one piece and $15 for each additional piece. All fees are non-refundable.
• TPG Membership is $30 annually. If you would like to join or renew your membership and take advantage of the discounted fees, you may do so on our CCAC website.
• Payments: EntryThingy is designed to manage entry payments by PayPal, allowing Credit/Debit card payments as well as those made directly through PayPal. Payments may also be made by check, which must be received or postmarked by midnight June 16, 2024.
Jurying Process: Juror will select paintings from digital images supplied by artists. Final show selection and awards will be made from the actual submitted work. The Juror and The Painters Group reserve the right to reject any painting that does not meet the standards as shown in the images supplied. Cash awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on August 11.
Notification of Acceptance: Notification will be made by email by July 14, 2024
Agreements: Submission of work to this exhibition constitutes an agreement to the conditions stated in the Call For Artists and a commitment to show accepted work for the
duration of the exhibition. By entering this exhibition, artists agree to allow The Painters Group and Art Center Morro Bay to use submitted images in promotional material.
Sales: All artwork must be for sale. Prices set by the artist may not be changed after acceptance. The Morro Bay Art Association will retain a 25 percent commission on all art sales. The artist receives 75 percent of the sale.
Insurance and Care: Artists are encouraged to carry their own insurance. The Painters Group and Art Center Morro Bay representatives will make every reasonable effort to protect art from the time it is received until it is returned to the artist. They will not be held responsible for any damage or theft.
Delivery: Accepted paintings must be hand delivered to Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main Street, Morro Bay, CA 93442 on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 between 10am and 2pm. Shipping is not allowed for this exhibition.
Pick-Up: Unsold paintings must be picked up on Tuesday, September 17 between 10am and 2pm.
The Painters Group (TPG) is open to all painters in any location, with skill sets ranging from emerging to professional, and all painting mediums are represented. TPG operates in affiliation with the Central Coast Artists Collective.
