Saturday, May 9th and Sunday. May 10th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in Lafayette Park (202 East Atlantic St, Springfield, Missouri)
This event is open to all forms of creativity, both visual and performance. However, there are criteria to be met (see RULES/REGULATIONS). There will be a jury process to ensure a well-balanced event that benefits all, including the invited creatives.
ARTIST FEES
Application Fee $10.00*
Booth Fee $100.00*
*Application fee waived for artist living within Woodland Heights. Additional scholarships are also available to Woodland Heights residents to help with booth fees if they pose an impediment to participation.
REFUND POLICY
This is a rain-or-shine event. There is no rain date. There are no refunds for cancellations.
IMPORTANT DATES
March 25 – Application Deadline
April 1 – Accepted notifications sent to Artists
April 10 – Booth fee DUE
April 15 – Booth Assignments sent
May 9 – Set-up starts at 7am – Show open from 10am to 4pm
May 10 – Show open from 10am to 4pm
(tear-down must be completed by 7pm)
CATEGORIES
Visual art and craft categories include but are not limited to:
Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography, Digital Art, Jewelry, Glass Art, Ceramics, Fiber Art, Mixed Media 2D, Mixed Media 3D, Wearables (not jewelry), Furniture, Soaps/Candles/Perfumes, Flower/Plant arranging, Face Painting.
RULES/REGULATIONS
- All work must be original work designed and conceived by the artist, displaying creativity, professionalism, and well-executed craftsmanship.
- No work from commercially available molds, kits, or patterns. No imports or buy/sell.
- All artists must have a City of Springfield retail license. You must provide proof of this with your booth payment.
- It is the artist’s responsibility to collect and report sales tax.
- Artists need to provide their own display, including table, tent or canopy.
- Artists are required to provide sturdy weights for their tent or canopy. No staking will be allowed.
- Artists must be in attendance and at their display area for the duration of the show, with the exception of times for lunch and/or restroom breaks.
- Artists must keep their displays set up for the entire length of the show hours unless there is severe weather and the host ends the show.
- Artists are responsible for proper insurance of their artwork and display. WHNA will not be responsible for damage to work or displays due to weather or any other incidents. Remember, the show goes on rain or shine, so be prepared.
- Please refrain from presenting offensive material. While freedom of expression is encouraged, and some items may be borderline, if the committee finds an individual item to be offensive, they may request the removal of the item from public view.
- Artists are expected to be in attendance at the Street Fair on May 9th and May 10th. Overnight security will monitor the park grounds.
DIGITAL IMAGE SUBMISSION
Please send up to 4 digital images representative of the work to be exhibited and, if possible, a picture of your booth display (does not have to be inside a tent for the display photo).
