CALL FOR ART: SPACE AGE BACHELOR PADAtomic-Age Inspired art for the June exhibit at HIVE artspace in York, PA.
Submission Period: May 1 through May 15 (by midnight).
Exhibit dates: June 7-29, 2024.
Put on Esquivel's "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music" and think mid-century modern, cocktail lounge culture, 1950s kitsch, atomic age, 1960s space program, retro robots, cheesy sci-fi era movies, The Jetsons, and if you're not still not sure, search the interwebs using "Space Age design" or "Atomic Age design" as key words. Not sure if your idea fits? Just e-mail us! Drawings, paintings, block prints, sculptures, air-dry clay, polymer clay, assemblage, 3-d printing, fiber art, ceramics, collage, photography, stained glass... all mediums are welcome for submission!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration.
• Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.
• ALL artists will receive notification 7-10 days after the submission deadline, whether their artwork was selected or not.
SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed via email, more by providing a link to more work. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 30% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be wired/ready-to-hang/display.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS (please read carefully):
Please send ONE E-MAIL with subject line ATOMIC to [email protected] with the following items:
• Up to 3 submission images in low-resolution (NO LARGER THAN 3MB) jpeg or png format. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter. Photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "squared" in the frame as possible.
• Info for each submission:
- Title
- Your name (City, State)
- Medium
- Size unframed / size framed (if applicable)
- Price
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, framing time needed, etc.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).
• Any other places in York, PA where you will have work on display during the exhibit timeframe.

• Drop-off for accepted artwork: May 29-30.
• Exhibit dates: June 7-29, 2024.
• Exhibit Opening Reception: First Friday, June 7, 5-9pm.
• End of show artwork pick-up: June 30, 12-4pm.
