January member Challenge. “Our Desert”
This quarterly gallery exhibit will be on display January and February 2025. Our Spring Juried Show will occupy the full gallery
for March 2025. Our gallery panel fees reflect this 2-month exhibit period. However, hosting for January, February and March are still required to staff the gallery for the full quarter. (1st Quarter 2025 hosting calendar is now available for sign-up in the gallery office)
January Challenge art “OUR DESERT” will be on exhibit from 1/1/25 – 1/31/25. No fees. There will be a separate sign in sheet for that. No record sheet nor hosting is required for this entry, but please follow the usual instructions for hanging. Please pick up your Challenge art by 1/31. A notice will be sent out to remind you.
Note: 2025 Membership dues, $40, are required to participate.
If buying panel space, you may continue to exhibit in the Gift Shop with no additional hosting requirement.
It’s important to pick up all your wall art from the gallery and your “expired” gift shop art (see Gift Shop…below) when you bring in your 1st quarter 2025 art and January Challenge artwork. (per Gallery Rules...after 90 days it becomes the property of City Lights)
To avoid congestion during Intake, PLEASE RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP BEFORE THE INTAKE DATE. Bring your receipt if you pay online.
Gift Shop Display Fees and hosting requirements: (for artists NOT exhibiting wall art in the regular gallery.)
$20 for the equivalent of one row of glass cubes, or single row in the glass cases. You can buy more space for an additional $20 if you want. Your gift shop art may remain for two quarters before being changed out, but a new gift shop form will be required for the second quarter. Please inventory your items.
The Gallery committee may position 3D pieces to visually balance the gallery exhibit. Hosting for one afternoon per month, for each January, February, and March is required.
Gallery Fees and Hosting Requirements:
$30 Full Panel –1900 Sq. Inches for 2D work. Panel fee includes 15 matted/sleeved originals or reproductions plus 25 note cards plus 3 tiles.. Hosting requirement of 2 afternoons per month, for each January, February, and March.
$15 for Half Panel –950 Sq. Inches for 2D work. Panel fee includes 5 matted/sleeved originals or reproductions plus 10 note cards plus 3 tiles. Hosting requirement of 1 afternoon per month for each January, February, and March.
Sign up for your hosting day(s), for January, February, and March using the Hosting Calendar on the Intake Table…unless you signed up earlier. (We do our best to have at least two hosts for each afternoon. Inexperienced hosts will be with an experienced host. We want our hosts to feel comfortable during the afternoons they spend in the gallery.
You may pay ahead via PayPal on our website…please bring your printed receipt… or mail a check to: City Lights, PO Box 91314, Henderson, NV 89009. We must receive check payment before Intake date.
Before you come in…
Please have your Artist Record Forms, and your Gift shop forms dated with the current date. Make sure they are filled out completely including your artist number. Attach your Certificate of Authenticity to the back of your work. Items in the gallery that are not listed on your Record Form will be removed from the gallery.
Have each 2D artwork correctly framed, wired, and ready to hang. No glass over 16”x20” will be permitted. Each piece must be wired securely using D-Rings. No eye hooks are allowed. Please wrap the wire securely to each D-Ring. Do Not Crimp the wire onto the D-Ring. The weight of the art piece causes it to slip and allows the art piece to fall off the wall. Please…No exceptions.
3D art including Reproductions, Notecards, Tiles, plus Gift Shop items, must be recorded on your “Gift Shop Record Form”. Each item must be identified with your artist # and price.
