CALL FOR ART: ICONSWe are seeking artworks portraying a wide variety of iconic figures for the July exhibit at HIVE artspace in York, PA.
Submission Period: July 1 through July 15 (by midnight).
Exhibit dates: August 2-31, 2024.
Everyone has someone they admire, and often it is a "famous" person. It could be a historical or political figure, a musician, actor, artist, philanthropist, scientist, athlete, activist, character, or other iconic figure... For the August exhibit, we want to see who inspires you! As always, the "icon" does not necessarily have to be the main subject, but must exist in the piece. All mediums are welcome.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration.
• Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.
• ALL artists will receive notification 7-10 days after the submission deadline, whether their artwork was selected or not.
SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed via email, more by providing a link to more work. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 30% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be wired/ready-to-hang/display.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS (please read carefully):
Please send ONE E-MAIL with subject line ICONS to [email protected] with the following items:
• Up to 3 submission images in low-resolution (NO LARGER THAN 3MB) jpeg or png format. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter. Photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "squared" in the frame as possible.
• Info for each submission:
- Title
- Your name (City, State)
- Medium
- Size unframed / size framed (if applicable)
- Price
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, framing time needed, etc.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).
• Any other places in York, PA where you will have work on display during the exhibit timeframe.

IMPORTANT DATES:
• Deadline for submissions: July 15 by midnight.
• Drop-off for accepted artwork: July 27-28.
• Exhibit dates: August 2-31, 2024.
• Exhibit Opening Reception: First Friday, August 2, 5-9pm.
• End of show artwork pick-up: August 31, 12-4pm.
