All ArtsWorcester artist members are invited to participate in 'E-I-E-I-O,' a members' exhibition in collaboration with the Fitchburg Art Museum.
Registration Deadline: February 23, 2027, 11:59 PM
Drop off period: March 3 - 7, 2027
Exhibition run: March 17 - April 15, 2027
The theme of farming has long been plentiful for artists. Landscape artists are often drawn to the natural beauty of farm settings and iconic structures like barns, farmhouses, and equipment. Still lifes feature animal and plant products, ripe with textures, colors, and unique forms. Portraits of farmers can romanticize a life tied so closely to nature, expose harsh realities of the labor behind farm work, and anything in between.
ArtsWorcester artist members are asked to delve deeply into the theme of farms and farming, and respond to artworks on loan from the Fitchburg Art Museum. The Fitchburg Art Museum’s curatorial staff will select ten works from E-I-E-I-O by ArtsWorcester artist members to be exhibited at FAM alongside the loaned works after the show. FAM will be looking for artworks that embrace the theme and that thoughtfully connect to their loan.
