rooted theatre co. is thrilled to announce AUDITIONS for Montana playwright Jason Pyette’s “The Harvest”, directed by Abigail Gilbert! Please join us at Studio M (2625 Briggs Street) on Monday, June 17 from 5:30-7:30 with callbacks to follow. “The Harvest” tells the story of a Montana farm family forced to come to grips with a changing world. Six adult children face the reality of aging parents, the grim economics of a small family wheat farm, and the conflict of their own personalities and histories.
When all six siblings return home in response to a call from their worried sister, Sarah, the realities of a sick father and dying farm set in and despite their differences, they agree they must all work to “bring in the crop” in an attempt to save their childhood home.
ROLES: (Please note that the role of Micky is already cast. Ages are approximate.)
Anna Carthege (64): The mother.
James Carthege, Jr. (42): A school administrator.
Alan Carthege (40): The mayor of the small town twenty-five miles north of the farm.
Mickey Carthege (36): An actor (bartender) in LA.
Sarah Pinnelly (30): The only girl in a family of boys. Married to David.
John Carthege (28): Stayed on the farm since graduating high school and nearly runs the place.
Samuel Carthege (24): Currently on leave from the military.
June Jacobs (26): Local girl. Dated Samuel all through high school, but now is with John.
REHEARSALS: Evenings June 18-22, July 22-August 3, August 11-showtime. More than willing to work around conflicts — we’re very flexible so if you have conflict questions or doubts, please ask!
PERFORMANCES: August 21-24, 2024 at the ZACC

✔️No sign ups required to audition — come anytime from 5:30-7:30!
✔️Callbacks to follow from 7:30-9:30.
✔️Please prepare a 1 minute contemporary monologue for auditions. If this is an issue, we will provide a monologue to cold read.
✔️ Please bring all conflicts for the rehearsal period to auditions.
