About this Event
Join us on Thursday, May 30 from 6:30 - 8:30pm at the David Brower Center for the opening reception of the California Forest Project by local photographer Stefan Thuilot. We invite you to celebrate and immerse yourself in the abundant biodiversity of our state’s forest ecosystems. From towering redwoods to rolling hills with Oak and Madrone trees, this collection showcases the range of California's wooded landscapes at a massive scale. Hundreds of individual photos make up these high-resolution composites, which are printed at up to 13 feet tall.
California is renowned as an unrivaled biodiversity hotspot in the United States, with numerous forests and trees that stand out globally for their size, age, height, and variety. The California Forest Project's primary aim is to provide comprehensive coverage of the diverse range of forests. We will hear from Stefan about this multi-year project and how it is already being used to support conservation and research efforts.
