About this Event
Calgary’s Story Librarian Leanne Hooper offers a glimpse into the Calgary’s Story Collection located on the 4th floor of the Central Library. This unique local history archive, launched with the support of the Library’s first head librarian Alexander Calhoun, includes maps, postcards, newspapers, works of fiction, and ephemera. Explore the stories of Calgary and Southern Alberta from the oldest book in the collection to the most recent acquisitions and learn more about upcoming initiatives.
Note: This event also runs on Tuesday, July 30 at Noon. It will be the same tour please only register for one.
Presented in Partnership with Chinook Country Historical Society, a Chapter of the Historical Society of Alberta. CCHS is dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of Canadian and Alberta history for people of all ages. Organized in 1958 and incorporated in 1993, CCHS covers the region from Olds to Nanton and from the BC border to the Saskatchewan border.
