About this Event
Join us for our Herb of the Month Club this July, at Blackbird House in Longmont, CO and learn all about the medicinal and spiritual uses of Calendula!
We will first connect with the spirit of Calendula through a shamanic journey, and introduce our selves.
Then, we will sample plain calendula tea, and an herbal infusion that works as a great lymphatic support blend, featuring our friend!
We will then talk about how to infuse calendula into oil, and make a delicious calendula salve to support healthy skin and lymphatic movement!
You will go home with a 2 oz calendula salve, and a copy of Natural Herbal Living Magazine's Calendula issue.
I can't wait for you to join us !
Calendula is the bright spot in both my garden and in my day. It grows sowell in Colorado, with seemingly little input from me in the way of soilmodifications. I plant it all around the border of my garden in part to bringin good pollinators, but really, I also plant these beautiful bright rays ofsunshine to brighten my day. You see, calendula makes me so happy. Thisseemingly innocuous pot marigold can’t help but bring a smile to my face. The bright orange and yellow flowers are an amazingly beautifulreminderor joy and grace in my everyday life, which sometimes can seem downrightcrappy. If I am feeling bad I just walk outside, look at my calendula, and smile.
The resinous flowers are a favorite, making their way into just about every skin lotion, body butter, and salve I make. They are a wonderful addition to teas to help soothe the internal mucous membranes and tissues. The lymphatic properties are undervalued, and I have found them to be quite moving, while also working gently deep in the body. I come across a lot of energetically and physically stagnant people. They just feel stuck and viscous, like things aren’t moving properly. This stickiness tends to cause health issues.
These are just some ways calendula can help you!
