When Annie's husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their newfound fame.
Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest-selling play in British theatre history.
Auditions will be held at the Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre, located at 28 Monument Square in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on Monday, January 20, 2025 and Tuesday, January 21, 2025 beginning at 6:00 pm with callbacks on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 if needed. Please register to audition no later than Friday, January 17th. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email.
Please bring an actor resume and headshot to be submitted to the production team. All those auditioning should be prepared to present a two contrasting monologues no longer than two minutes total. Actors 18+ are encouraged to audition. Please be advised that this show contains adult content.
Rehearsals will begin on Monday, February 3rd and will be held primarily on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 PM, as well as Sunday 2:00-5:00 PM.
*Not all actors cast will be called to every rehearsal. Schedule may vary.
Tech week will run Sunday, April 13, 2025 – April 16, 2025

Attendance is required for all tech week dates and performance dates set forth.
