One of the most challenging things of Covid....missing Band Camp!! :)We are looking forward to getting things going with another fun band camp this summer, June 14-18, 2021; 9am-Noon with final concert Friday June 18th at 7pm!
Band camp is going on its 18th year, having a great start at St. Paul and now continuing the last few years at the Christian Arts Institute of Mt. Olive. We are excited to have another great director to welcome to band camp, Mr. Caleb Staehr from Rockford Lutheran, who will be joining both Mr. Kyle Cauthorn and Mr. John Schmid.
We'd love to have all our campers of the past return again for this summer. Keep in mind, band camp is open to any student who has had a year of experience on their instrument.
We also would like to help parents rest easy knowing we will continue as we have at our schools this year, and take precautions with Covid by doing things like masking instruments, physical distancing and making use of disinfectants and sanitizing.
One aspect of our camp that makes it a strong, fun learning experience is our counselors. Any students entering 10th grade on up can come to camp free of charge as counselors, as they help the younger musicians become stronger players. Many of our counselors have used band camp as a fulfillment to their service hours that many schools require of students. Others come just for the fun!
