It's easy to fall in love with Italy. The history, the architecture, the art and the romantic landscapes are reflected in a culture of eating and drinking that is uniquely Italian, regional and personal.

At tonight's tasting you can discover a range red and white wines from light and fresh to bold and rich, including Nebbiolo from Piedmont, Valpolicella from Veneto, Pinot Nero from Alpine Trentino, and rugged Negroamaro from Puglia, as well as wines from Tuscany and Abruzzo. In a country that covers such an expanse from north to south, Italy has so much to discover, so why not start the journey by learning more about its wines and wine regions with us?

The evening is split into two parts:

7.00pm: Walk-around tasting of 12 great Italian wines in the Arch room with presenters to talk you through what you're tasting.

8.30pm: Communal dinner in the Market Room of a homemade pasta main course served with garlic focaccia. The dish will be confirmed by chefs nearer the time.

We encourage everyone to turn up in good time to enjoy the tasting before dinner is served.

Doors open at 6.45pm.

You don't need to be an expert; you just need to grab a glass and get tasting.

Café Wine Club is a monthly wine event at Café François. Held in the gorgeous upstairs Market Room overlooking Borough Market our wine club events include a tasting of up to 20 wines, plus a set menu main course. The free pour walk around tasting is followed by a sharing style dinner at communal tables. Just grab a glass and get stuck in.
Created and run in partnership with independent retailer Theatre of Wine and featuring wines from a variety of like-minded shippers and sellers, at Café Wine Club we aim to keep the value keen and the selection cutting edge. Wine experts will be on hand to talk about the wines, answer questions, and guide you through the tasting.
Wines tasted will be available to buy for delivery to your home, and a selection of wines will be available to purchase by the glass to enjoy with dinner on the night.
Come raise a glass and get involved. You'll learn a lot about wine, get to taste new things and make exciting discoveries, share experiences with other wine lovers and enjoy dinner too in a shared, convivial atmosphere.
