Cactus Reining Classic

Saddle up and hold on the wildly popular Cactus Reining Classic which has been viewed and streamed by millions on Paramount and CMT’s The Last Cowboy rides back into WestWorld of Scottsdale March 14th – 22nd 2025. Events will run from 8am-8pm every day. The nine-day event offers FREE admission for spectators and more than 30 different western and reining competitions from youth and amateur to professional with cash prizes including the famous Run for a Million as seen on Taylor Sheridan’s hit TV series The Last Cowboy where riders compete to win a million dollars. Sheridan is a co-owner of the event and an avid horseman attendee and commentator at the Cactus Reining Classic. He’s also an Academy Award Nominee and the creator of TV’s number one show Yellowstone and its prequels 1883 and 1923 as well as Special Ops: Lioness and Landman. Indeed The Last Cowboy was an idea sparked by the early episodes of Yellowstone. Drawing more than 15000 attendees the event is owned produced and organized by Scottsdale Resident Amanda Brumley. Brumley held her first Cactus Reining Classic event in 2005 at WestWorld of Scottsdale and since then the attendance and prize money has grown to become one of NRHA’s top 10 annual events.
