The Cactus Gang was formed in 2013, and in their inaugural year, was nominated for Horizon Award as Band of the Year. They were finalists again in 2014, and in 2016, won the pinnacle of awards as NECMA Best Country Band. They play a great mix of country music which consist of today's modern country hits. The Gang has opened for Country Legend Colin Raye, Country superstar songwriter Phil Vassar, local star Jo Dee Messina (5 #1 Country hits), and Buddy Jewell, winner of USA Network's inaugural show "Nashville Star".
The band features lead vocalist Greg Swartz who has toured as a backing vocalist with some of the biggest names in country music: Blake Shelton, Hal Ketchum, Michael Ray, Darryl Worley, Ty Herndon, and Cody Johnson to name a few.

Lead guitarist Wil Yates is a prodigy of sorts. He is from a large musical family, playing guitar with his older brothers at a very young age. His family has played with top local country/rock artist of the 70's such as Alan Estes Band and Pousette Dart band.

Fiddler Abe Dewing began playing violin at the age 8. Classically trained, he went on to play in the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras. Abe has been featured in Strings Magazine and his work with sports music was recognized by the New England Patriots.

On bass is the multi-talented Kevin T. Norris. Originally from Long Island, NY, Kevin moved to Bethlehem PA in 1982, where he established a full-time musical career performing with various show, variety, country, and jazz bands, including 9 years with the successful regional show/Top 40 band “KIK”, in venues from the resorts of the Pocono Mountains to the Jersey Shore.
Drummer Paul Giovine pursued a degree in Music Education at the University of Connecticut and studied Music Performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Paul was the house drummer at Boston's infamous Dick's Last Resort from 1994-2000. He has toured the East Coast and Midwest, performed live on TV & radio and opened for artists such as Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Gin Blossoms, Jessica Simpson, Colin Raye, and Matt Schofield.
The newest member of the Gang, Heather Smith, brings a softer touch to the stage. With Appalachian roots and a Motown upbringing, Heather has been exposed to good music all her life. She has been singing with her musical family as long as she can remember, and singing with a country band has been at the top her bucket list since she was a little girl.
