Lortriana Remedies was founded by Em Hill many years ago, inspired by the Algonquian word Podunk, which translates to “Where you sink in mire.” Em’s Choctaw heritage intertwined with the Chickasaw tribes at Boggy Depot, where some family members referred to the bogs using that term, while others described it as a “palace of isolation.” Together, these interpretations evolved into the concept of “Finding your Center.” When Em was encouraged to seek her own center, she turned to nature, leading to the creation of the name Lortriana. Over time, her journey of natural healing blossomed, fueled by her own healing experiences and a deep desire to help others find the same path.
