Join us for a cacao ceremony in celebration of Mother Nature and Ourselves.
About this Event

Join Shanna Poveda and Amy Burrell for a cacao ceremony honoring Earth Day.
This ceremony will include consuming ceremonial cacao and making mandala portraits like the one in the photo below.

Event Information:

  • Date: Saturday April 23rd from 3:30pm-6:30pm
  • Price: $50 Early Bird, $60 after April 16th
  • Location: Touchstone Wellness Center (1713 N College Ave #1, Bloomington, IN 47401)

A little about cacao:



Cacao is a sacred plant known for its heart-opening, stimulating, warming, uplifting, and mood-elevating spirit.




Cacao contains:

  • high amounts of nutrients, such as antioxidants, manganese, copper, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and vitamin B12.
  • Theobromine- An antidepressant, improves mood, enhances cognition, is anti-inflammatory, and reduces blood pressure.
  • Phenlethylamine- Stimulates the brain to release dopamine.
  • Tryptophan- Is the building block for serotonin, which is our body's feel good hormone.
  • Anandamine- Is a compound like THC that has a subtle pain-relieving effect.

Cacao Herbal Actions:

  • Nervine Stimulant- Cacao will bring stimulation to the nervous system. It will help with sluggishness, depression, and low-mood.
