The Cabell Huntington Wayne Continuum of Care (CHW-CoC) is excited to announce its upcoming Community Cleanup Event, scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will take place throughout Downtown Huntington and Highlawn neighborhoods, with volunteers gathering at the Downtown Huntington Library to kick off the day.The initiative aims to enhance the beauty and cleanliness of our community while fostering a spirit of environmental stewardship and neighborly cooperation. Volunteer registration is encouraged but not required.

Date: Tuesday, October 1, 2024
Time: 9:00AM - 1:00PM (shifts 9:00AM - 11:00AM & 11:00AM - 1:00AM)
Meeting Point: Downtown Huntington Library, 455 9th St, Meeting Room 1
What to Bring: Comfortable clothing, gloves, & water bottle. Trash bags & additional supplies will be provided.
“Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment is a collective responsibility,” said Brittany Ochoa, CHW-CoC Lead. “This event is a great opportunity for residents to come together, make a tangible impact, and show pride in our community. Every small action counts towards making Huntington a better place for everyone.”
Participants will be assigned to specific areas of the to ensure comprehensive coverage. Refreshments and light snacks will be available for volunteers as a token of appreciation for their hard work.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, the event will follow all relevant health and safety guidelines. Volunteers are encouraged to practice social distancing and use hand sanitizer as needed.
