DISNEY MUSIC IN STORYTELLING WORKSHOP CONTENT:
Music is the soundtrack of our lives; it helps spark our imagination and brings stories to life. In this exciting music class, students will learn how Disney theme parks tell captivating stories with music and explore the use of music to create and inspire individual experiences.
Here at Disneyland Resort in California, the workshop unveils itself in 70 years of history as we celebrate happy and get a one-of-a-kind look at Disney Parks music over the decades.
Students will develop listening skills and share observations, discovering how Disney theme parks use music to enhance the Guest experience, produce an immersive story and create an inclusive experience. This workshop is not about music theory or composition, but rather how music can cultivate a unique, immersive and individual experience.
During this Performing Arts workshop, students will:
- Listen and analyze music from a variety of Disney locations and movies to determine what story is being told and why.
- Identify and define a variety of musical terms like tempo, rhythms, melodies and harmonies and how these choices assist in telling the story.
- Identify the emotions evoked by different musical styles.
- Understand how music history inspires musical styles and helps to tell an individual story, to include the examination of Disney songwriters and their influences.
