Justine Mainville Pagano, Volunteer Manager at Sojourner House, has been connecting and engaging the community with the work since 2022. She moved to Rhode Island to attend Rhode Island College. After earning her degree in Communications and Film, Justine spent years as a working artist and musician. She earned her Masters in Teaching from Brown University and taught in Providence for 7 years. After leaving an abusive relationship, she wanted to work more with adults and teens to affect change in her community and beyond. As a survivor, this work is personal for Justine. When she isn't helping groups and individuals get involved in Sojo's work, you can find her reading under a tree, making art or perfecting her pizzelle recipe.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and what better way to fight abuse than to teach the community ways to address the violence we see? Sojourner House has been working to support and empower survivors since 1976. Through a 24 hour hotline, clinical support, housing and more, Sojourner House aims to end domestic and sexual abuse and human trafficking.
