Clara Byom
With a fearless curiosity and multi-instrumental virtuosity (clarinet, accordion, keyboard, electronics), Clara Byom has forged a successful musical career as a versatile performer, composer, and arts administrator whose work stretches across multiple genres—from classical (new and old) to traditional folk, indie rock to electronic music. Clara has premiered over 40 new classical works as soloist, collaborator, or with the New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble, which she co-founded in 2016 with Dalton Harris. Since 2020, Clara produced three solo albums of electronic/electroacoustic music, two collaborative albums with lo-fi hip hop/experimental artist Dan Dan, and experimental improvisation albums with Patrick DeBonis and Barry Chabala. Clara frequently plays for contra, English Country, and International Folk Dance as a soloist and with The Parson Sisters. She is a founding member of the award winning folk rock band Dust City Opera. Clara serves as Development Director for the Klezmer Institute. Muni Kulasinghe
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Sri Lankan parents, Muni Kulasinghe spent his formative school years in the sunny southwest and summers sojourning in serendipitous Sri Lanka. At 7 years old, he began the violin because he wanted to be like his older sister. At Colorado College, he was lucky enough to fall in with the Bowed Piano Ensemble, with whom he toured much of Western Europe. In Oslo, Norway, during their first tour they were even on the same bill as Herbie Hancock! After university, young Muni went adventuring to Tunisia. That was delightful for him.
Upon his return stateside, he rejoined friends in the Buntport Theater in Denver, with whom he put on plays. He also rejoined another friend, Thaddeus Phillips of Lucidity Suitcase, to create and perform “The Earth’s Sharp Edge” at La MaMa Theater in NYC and the Painted Bride in Philadelphia. For one year he again left these august shores to play gypsy swing in Montpellier, France. He learnt a great deal about cheese, wine and not brushing his teeth. Currently, he plays the violin with Le Chat, teaches Elements of Improv at UNM, manages the Noon Concert Series for the Arts-in-Medicine program at UNMH, and happily does theater with friends when they ask.
Kory Reeder
Kory Reeder is an American composer and performer whose music is often introspective and atmospheric, investigating ideas of objectivity, place, immediacy, situation, and interaction with pieces ranging from symphonic works to text scores and computer-assisted improvisations.
With a catalog of over 100 programmed works, his music has been released on Edition Wandelweiser Records, where one may also find scores of his work, as well as Petrichor Records, Sawyer Editions, Sawyer Spaces, Impulsive Habitat, and Another Timbre, with upcoming releases planned for 2023 on Full Spectrum Records and a few releases in the works for 2024.
Kory runs/operates Sawyer Editions, a small-batch label specializing in contemporary, experimental, and improvised music, especially of new and unreleased artists and the Sawyer Spaces imprint focusing on field recordings and soundscape composition.
Ryan Seward
Ryan Seward is a musician, composer, and artist living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His work is situated within and across a number of forms, including composition, improvisation, installation, performance, phonography, photography, sculpture, and videography.
Andrew Weathers
Andrew Weathers is a composer and improviser based in the Llano Estacado region of northwestern Texas. His work is equally concerned with the disjunction of duration and place, as well as improvisation’s prospect as a vessel of discovery and collective practice. His projects and performances span the idioms of field recording, prepared guitar, surrealist soundscape, and minimalist composition rooted in repetition and drone. Apart from his longtime commitment to collaboration alongside a wide swath of figures inhabiting the sonic underground, Weathers is founder and operator of Full Spectrum Records, which has continued to release the works of sundry sound artists and experimental musicians since its inception in 2008 in his home state of North Carolina. On top of frequent credits as a mixing and mastering engineer, he has also produced various projects for Other Minds Records and Rural Situationism.
