About this Event

What’s forgotten at the bottom of your makeup bag?

Maybe it’s a lipstick you once loved, a broken eyeshadow palette, an eyeliner you no longer use, or a product that has passed its expiry date. Instead of throwing these items away, bring them along and give them a new life through art.

In this workshop, we’ll experiment with beauty products in unexpected ways: using makeup pigments in place of traditional paint, turning brushes and applicators into art tools, creating textures with powders and creams, and getting hands-on with painting and mark-making.

There is no right or wrong way to make. No art experience is needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

This workshop is part of Green Libraries Week, hosted by London-based creative collective Luminal Collective, and explores creative reuse, waste, beauty, everyday objects and the stories we attach to the things we keep.

Luminal Collective creates participatory art projects that centre women, queer and marginalised experiences through inclusive art, storytelling and collective making.

Family friendly
Children are welcome to join with a parent or guardian. Please note that the makeup products used in the workshop may be old or expired and are intended as art materials only, not for use on the face, eyes or lips.
