After more than a decade spent behind the scenes as an Art Director and Stylist within New Zealand's fashion industry, BY KAI marks the beginning of Makaira Lee's own creative chapter.
Inspired by her Fijian heritage, craftsmanship and effortless tailoring, the debut collection explores modern resort dressing through refined silhouettes and considered construction, with every piece designed and made in New Zealand alongside her mother, Jeannie - her lifelong creative partner whose love of making has shaped her own.
