BWISE Presents…Women Hold Up Half The Sky

Join us at the beautiful Winnetu Oceanside Resort in Martha’s Vineyard for a day focused on improving the lives and careers of Black women in healthcare and medicine!

Our program will begin with a morning session, including a keynote speech by Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford, a panel discussion, and partner presentations.

The evening program will consist of networking and showcase Black women entrepreneurs and leaders in biotech.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford

Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford is an accomplished and well-published obesity medicine physician-scientist, who uses a social justice lens to care for patients and dismantle weight bias.

As a Black woman physician, Dr. Stanford's path into academic medicine has been more challenging than many of her colleagues, and recognizes that Black women in medicine, research and biotechnology share in parts of her experience.

Getting to the Winnetu Oceanside Resort

The Winnetu is located on Martha’s Vineyard, at 31 Dunes Road, Edgartown, MA 02539.

After arriving in Boston, MA, we recommended taking a coach bus to Woods Hole, MA, and the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard on May 31, 2022 or earlier. Once in Martha’s Vineyard, a taxi or Uber can be used to get to the Winnetu Hotel.

Peter Pan Bus Lines’ operates frequent, easy-to-use, bus service from Boston’s South Station, and all terminals at Logan Airport, directly to the Steamship Authority Wharf Ferry in Woods Hole.

Buses from South Station typically depart for Woods Hole at 10AM, 11AM, 2PM and 545PM.

Buses from Logan Airport typically depart for Woods Hole at 930AM, 1030AM, 115PM, 515PM.
