About this Event
Our charming and peaceful pollinators need your help. Join Judy Cardin, bumble bee expert and educator with the DNR’s community science program Wisconsin Bumble Bee Brigade, to learn about Wisconsin’s native bees. When Judy retired as Bureau Director with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection 6 years ago, she transitioned her 50 year passion for nature and gardening into her retirement career: sharing how to restore your yard and community spaces to support native wildlife, in particular bumble bees and pollinators. Half of Wisconsin’s bumble bees species are threatened, and Judy will show how each of us can make a difference. Learn what is causing bee population declines, and how to support their habitat and flower needs. Along the garden path we will learn to identify some of Wisconsin’s 20 bumble bee species. Judy is also the administrator of the Facebook Wisconsin Bumble Bee Observers page.
A zoom link will be emailed out to all registered participants by Monday, January 27th. This event will be recorded and then shared on the Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership Youtube Channel.
