About this Event
The Buying Social Justice through Procurement research project is a two-year project, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, examining the use of public procurement to achieve social objectives. The research aims to provide new evidence on how public procurement is being used to advance equality and diversity in employment, with a particular focus on the UK construction workforce.
The aims of this half day workshop are to:
- discuss the project's initial findings;
- help develop the project's recommendations and guidance;
- identify the best ways to disseminate the final project report, findings and recommendations;
- build networks among those working in social procurement.
The workshop will be of particular interest to:
- procurement specialists;
- equality and diversity practitioners;
- policy makers, and
- trade unions and civil society organisations
There will be opportunities to meet with and learn from others interested in the use of public procurement to achieve social objectives and a networking lunch will be provided to facilitate this objective.
